QUEZON CITY -- The lengthy break for UAAP Women's Football did not dampen La Salle's form as they dethrone UP to prove to everyone that their team are in it to win the whole thing with a 5-0 rout earlier in the afternoon at FEU Diliman.

With qualification to the women's final already secured before the international break, the Lady Archers came off the blocks from the get go as they notched their first goal in the first minute as Kyla Inquig pounced on a previous shot by Kyra Dimaandal that went off the post.

As the first half continued on, La Salle showed a relaxed and confident squad that dominated and dictated the proceedings of the match as they mounted threatening attacks towards the Lady Maroons' half.

Come the 27th minute the second goal for the runaway leaders eventually came in the most spectacular fashion courtesy of Sara Castaneda, who managed to put her corner kick into the back of the net for an Olympic goal.

The league's leading scorer made it 3-0 in the 34th minute as she made sure of her rebound after UP desperately yet successfully defended earlier attempts by Nicole Andaya and Kyla Inquig.

Further pressure was applied by the Green Booters but UP were able to limit further damage as the half eventually came to an end.

The second half pretty much turned out a one sided affair as La Salle quickly sharpened their attacking arrows to put an end to the Lady Maroon's reign.

Regine Metillo pulled out a golazo in the 65th minute as she shot from considerable distance that looped and evaded opposing keeper Nicole Adlawan to make it four-nil.

As the match wore on, La Salle was always on the upper-hand. However, A rare UP offensive transpired late in the game but they were not able to connect from a great cross.

To add salt to the wound, Mary Cristine Duran eventually made it five in the final minute of the game to complete the rout and make it 'La Manita' to end State U's reign as UAAP queens in the most brutal fashion.

After the game, La Salle gaffer Hans-Peter Smit shared his thoughts especially in terms of mid-day kickoffs. "We used the heat to our advantage considering that (the team is) already playing well. But I think we are not yet 100%."

With Coach Hans' statement, the sky's the limit for this stellar squad that is on track to sweep the eliminations with a perfect record.
