By Ricky Manliguis

SAN JUAN-- The skid has finally ended for Adamson University.

The Lady Falcons ended its UAAP Season LXXIX on a bright note by demolishing University of the East, 25-15, 25-19, 25-15, in the first game of Wednesday women's volleyball action at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

The San Marcelino-based squad took advantage of UE's 30 miscues thoughout the match, while clicking offensively behind the troika of Jema Galanza, Joy Dacoron, and Bernadette Flora to finally put an end to its 20-game losing spell stretching from last year and finish tied with its victims at 1-13.

Smoking hot right from the get-go, AdU built a 22-11 lead in the first set then continued pouncing in the next three frames to take the match in just an hour and 11 minutes.

Galanza topscored with 15 points, 13 coming from kills and 18 excellent digs, while Dacoron added 10 markers and Flora seven. Zonxi Dahab and Fatima Joaquin made their presence felt with six apiece.

Over-all, AdU had a 36-24 edge in attacks, while committing just 20 errors. It also had 49 excellent digs and 13 sets, 12 coming from Chumcee Caole.

Shaya Adorador struggled for UE, scoring just nine points.
