PASAY CITY-- Far Eastern U is still in there.

The Lady Tamaraws kept its Final Four hopes yet again as it stymied National U, 25-21, 25-21, 25-22, in the second game of UAAP LXXIX women's volleyball action Saturday at the Mall Of Asia Arena.

With the straight-set triumph, the girls from Morayta are still in the thick of the fight for a slot in the next round, tying its victim to a 7-6 win-loss record owing to back-to-back wins.

Bernadeth Pons registered 16 points on 14 attacks to lead FEU, while Toni Rose Basas chipped in 14.

Despite a slight edge in attacks (39-36) and blocks (6-4), it was the 27 unforced errors that sealed the doom for the Lady Bulldogs in dropping its second straight outing.

Jaja Santiago paced NU with a game-high 20 markers spiked on 18 attacks, while Jorelle Singh added 11.

FEU and NU must beat their separate last assignments to gain a shot in joining early entrants La Salle (11-2) ans Ateneo (10-2) in the semifinals. The former will tackle the University of the Philippines Lady Maroons on Wednesday, while the latter will have its hands full against University of Santo Tomas on the final matchday on April 8.
