MAKATI—A second generation player headlines the list of 21 young basketball players who made past the Jr. NBA North Luzon Selection Camp at the Don Bosco campus here on Sunday.
Echo Laure, the son of former Batangas Blade Eddie and the younger brother of UST volleyball star EJ, is the most notable name among eight boys who passed the two-day camp and will join the rest of the regional camp survivors in the national training camp on May 12-14 at the said venue and the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall in Pasay.
The other male topnotchers are John Dhel Austria, Ian Espinosa, Ronald Trinidad, John Michael Vicencio, Ren Tolentino, Dietherd Torres, and Clarence Ramos.
The 13 female ballers who will return next month are Bonie Solis, Jeehan Ahmed, Edel Araza, Princess Villarin, Dianne Nolasco, Lindsey Nacional, Eriel Lacanlale, Jazmine Maniquis, Yza Alarcon, Abby Ruiz, Gabbie Wong, Franzelle Besa, and Crizan Pangilinan.
The said players were chosen out of 1,333 players who registered for the camp on Saturday and 80 who were called back for Day 2.
