MANILA—UC survived an acid test from CESAFI rival UV and hacked out a 15-14 win in the final of the Under Armour U18 3x3 Southeast Asia Tournament Cebu leg on Sunday.

The quartet of John Bryl Cuyos, Alen Pelegrino, Emmanuelle Bautista and Virlou Orquez and their coach Jover Samonte earned the right to join the national finals starting on Friday at the Titan Love Court in Taguig.

UC bested UV and 71 other teams from Cebu and other Visayan provinces.

USPF took home the third spot.

Meanwhile, the Taguig leg officially kicked off on Wednesday with a basketball clinic also at the Titan Love Court.

Veteran coach Louie Gonzales and former basketball stars Eddie Laure, Chris Luanzon, and Eric Dela Cuesta served as teachers to participants.

The winner of the U18 Division of the Taguig leg that will run until Saturday will get a chance to be part of the Philippine team that will compete in the FIBA Asia U18 3x3 Cup in Malaysia next month.
