MANILA -- After their two week giant-killing spree, seventh placed UE had ended their season with a huge bang after squeaking out Adamson in the pair's final fixture by the slimmest of scorelines Sunday evening at the Rizal Memorial.

Fresh from Thursday's upset over league leaders Ateneo, the also-ran Red Warriors went toe-to-toe with the wooden spoon Falcons in a virtual battle for pride before a second-half strike by substitute Krysler Opeña gave Fitch Arboleda's side a fitting finish to the season with 3-match winning streak.

After a goalless first half, action heat up at the restart, with both teams almost came close to scoring almost twice, with Carl Viray and Frank Rieza saving the blushes for their respective schools with their thrilling saves.

However, it was UE who broke the ice with eight minutes to go, as Opeña connected on a Jasper Absalon pass and made no mistake in smashing the ball to the roof of the net past Viray to send the UE bench on their feet.

The Red Warriors finish their season with 14 points, with Adamson end theirs in last place with a solitary win against eliminated La Salle in the first round to show for.
