MANDALUYONG--Sports is also a good way to shed some unwanted fats, so athletes, whether playing professionally or even just at the barangay level, are expected by many to join the FitFil 1 Million Pound National Weight Loss Challenge.

But renowned fitness coach Jim Saret has a better suggestion for athletes who want to take part in the challenge whose main goal is for the participants to lose a combined weight of 1 million pounds before Christmas.

"Meron tayong isa pang category. Ang tawag doon, 'Pay It Forward'," Saret bared during the said fitness challenge's official launch at the EDSA Shangrila Hotel on Tuesday.

On how this option works, Saret explained, "Ang goal naman natin sa kanila ay tulungan nila yung mga kaibigan nila na kailangang mag-lose ng weight."

He then revealed what is in store for athletes who decide to take the "Pay It Forward" Challenge: "Pag successful silang nakatulong, kunyari, naka-100 pounds total from all na tinulungan nila, bibigyan namin sila ng reward ni Coach Toni for being a good motivator."

Saret also said that the athletes can still join the weight loss challenge as participants while also taking part in the Pay It Forward part.

"Everyone is win-win dito. It's a nice campaign. Para sa lahat talaga ito," Coach Jim continued.

The FitFil Challenge will run from June 6-Dec. 5. Application is ongoing at fitfil.ph or at any Robinson's Supermarket nationwide.
