Darryl Roberts was fed up with the theatrics and the missed chances but he got the goal that punched Global Cebu's ticket to the ASEAN zone semifinal.

MANILA -- Global Cebu barged the ASEAN Zone semfinal of the AFC Cup after blasting past Boeung Ket Angkor to close out their Group F campaign Wednesday evening at the Rizal Memorial.

Needing a win to safely go through to the ASEAN zone semifinal, Toshiaki Imai's men kept their nerve and got their job done in a 3-1 win that pipped Johor Darul Ta'zim by two points in their group, despite beating cellar dwellers Magwe by that same scoreline in Larkin in another fixture that was played at the same time.

Heeding to the call of their Japanese manager, the Queen City boys are in serious business to go through, as Paul Mulders scored the match's first just 12 minutes in, converting on a Paolo Salenga cross with a right footed effort into the bottom right corner.

Global Cebu doubled their lead fifteen minutes later with Hikaru Minegishi curling a left footed shot after Shu Sasaki and Darryl Roberts menace the penalty box that gave the Cambodian champs fits, with the home side up 2-0 at the break.

But Angkor gave the reigning Philippine league champs a huge scare in their qualification aspirations, as Sath Rosib pulled one back from four minutes after the restart from a set piece.

However, the men in yellow ave the final say, with the Trinidadian had enough of the visitors theatrics with a coup de grace in added time, smashing in the rebound off OJ Clariño's muffed chance.

With the result, Global Cebu will take on S-League's Home United in a two-legged ASEAN semifinal in two weeks time.
