GlobalPort stops ROS from taking outright QF spot, tightens wildcard race

BIÑAN—GlobalPort preserved a hot start to stun Rain or Shine, 107-101, in their PBA Commissioner's Cup clash at the Alonte Sports Arena on Friday night.

The Batang Pier lost a 16-point lead but recovered down the stretch to remain in the hunt for a quarterfinal spot.

GlobalPort started the game red-hot, opening a 30-14 lead early into the second quarter.

ROS, however, recovered and even led by as much as eight, 94-86, in the fourth quarter.

The Batang Pier closed out the game on a 31-7 run to steal the win.

Terrence Romeo led GlobalPort, which moved up to 4-6, with 26 points, five rebounds, seven assists, one steal, and one block.

Justin Harper shaved off foul trouble and added 19 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, and one steal.

Duke Crews dropped 23 markers, 17 boards, and two assists for ROS, which fell to 5-5.
