MAKATI -- Kaya FC Makati rescued a point at home to open their PFL season after securing a 1-1 draw with Ceres Negros on Saturday at the UMak Stadium.
Loaded with firepower from the starters down to their bench, the visitors went ahead at the stroke of halftime when Iain Ramsay fired a tight-angled shot past Zach Banzon.
With more possessions and shots taken, Ceres could have gone 2-0 up 16 minutes after the restart, but Omid Nazari's free kick could have gone in after it hit the bar but referee Steve Supresencia let the match continue.
Those breaks of the game continue to benefit majority of 1,039 in attendance, and they made it count in the 68th minute when Marwin Angeles equalized against his former club when he poked the ball into the back of the net after a mad scramble.
Kaya held firm with their backline, and had the points sealed with a goal-line clearance by Kenshiro Daniels in stoppage time.
