NU sizzles in third, holds off EAC in first win with Jarin

SAN JUAN, MM--NU needed a third quarter blast before averting EAC's upset ax with an 87-85 win in the FilOil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup at the FilOil Flying V Centre on Friday.

The Bulldogs outscored the Generals, 26-15, in the third canto to complete the overturn from a 15-29 first quarter deficit to a 70-65 lead.

However, NU still needed to quash EAC's gallant stand in the fourth period to nail its first win with Coach Jamike Jarin at the helm.

Jjay Alejandro fired 25 points, while Matt Salem added 20 for the Bulldogs.

Jerome Garcia dropped 16 points with four caroms and three steals in his first game as a General.

Hamadou Laminou had a solid outing, hitting 15 points, grabbing 18 rebounds, and getting six blocks with one assist.
