Reyes assures Blatche "will be 100 percent" against Indonesia despite "mild" injury

QUEZON CITY--With a colossal matchup against Jamarr Johnson looming on Thursday night, Coach Chot Reyes opted to sit out Andray Blatche on Wednesday night and field in an all-Filipino lineup against Vietnam.

However, as it turns out, Blatche may really need the day-off health-wise.

"I think he tweaked his hamstring a little bit yesterday," Reyes bared to the media following yet another blowout win by Gilas at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday night.

With the way the tournament is scheduled, in which the teams will play six games in seven nights with their designated bye day as their day-off, it is expected that the wear and tear will catch up with the players.

Reyes, however, reiterated that fans need not worry about Blatche's condition especially when he locks horns with Johnson in what would essentially be the gold medal game between Gilas and Indonesia.

"I think it's just a mild strain, so hopefully he'll be 100 percent," the coach continued.
