Reyes to devote day-off for mid-SEABA evaluation

By Ivan Saldajeno

QUEZON CITY—With how Gilas dominated its opponents three games into the SEABA Men's Championship, it seems like the team is in no need for an evaluation.

But it is exactly what Coach Chot Reyes will do on Monday, when the Philippine team takes a break from the seven-nation cagefest.

"We'll use [the Monday off] to get feedback from the last three games," Reyes bared to the media right after another Gilas blowout against Malaysia at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Thailand, Gilas' next opponent on Tuesday night, will play Myanmar in the first Monday seniors match at 3 p.m., giving Reyes a chance for a second look at the team.

"We took a look at their game today against Indonesia. We all know how good a team Thailand is.... We gotta make sure to prepare for it," added Reyes.

The Thais are expected to vent their ire on the Burmese squad after losing to the Indons on a last-second shot by Mario Wuysang.
