MANILA—One thing is for sure on Monday night: the Banal Family will have an interesting basketball-related discussion over dinner.
It is going to be Coaches Joel and Koy against Gab as Marinerong Pilipino takes on Flying V in the main game of the PBA D-League Foundation Cup doubleheader at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
In a not-so-common occurrence in Philippine basketball, the Thunder's Gab Banal will face off against the Skippers' Daddy Joel and Tito Koy in their 5 p.m. meeting.
But the younger Banal insists the upcoming match-up is just another day in the office for him.
“I’ll just treat them as a normal team. If I take it personally, I’ll lose focus, so might as well treat them as normal team and get that fourth win. They know what I can do, so I’ll just keep doing what I’m doing and from there I’ll adjust,” Banal said.

Flying V looks to sustain its unbeaten run as the team returns after two weeks of layoff while gearing up for tough battles against Racal and Tanduay.
Meanwhile, Racal looks to bounce back from its stinging loss to Cignal as the club goes up against Wang's at 3 p.m.
