Global shackle Ilocos on a seven-minute blitz

By Kevin Estrada

MANILA--Global Cebu got their bearings back on track after an arduous two-week painful stretch after taking a vital away win at Ilocos United to go third in the PFL on Sunday evening.

A seven minute stretch was all the Queen City club need to take all three points at Bantay's Quirino Stadium with a 3-0 win over the newcomers from the north.

Shu Sasaki bagged a five-minute brace for Marjo Allado's men who go third on goal difference over Kaya after their third win level them with 10 points in the table.

Paul Mulders scored Global's first from the spot in the 23rd minute before Sasaki gets his brace in the 25th and 30th minute.

The reigning national champs then fly out to Singapore to face Geylang United in the first round of the Singapore Cup Wednesday.
