QUEZON CITY—Chris Ross picked up from where he left off in the previous conference.

Following the Finals MVP award in the PBA Philippine Cup, the spitfire San Miguel guard took home the Best Player of the Conference award for the Commissioner's Cup as announced on Wednesday night prior to Game 4 of the Finals between his team and TNT at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Ross had a tight battle stats-wise against fellow Beerman Alex Cabagnot for the said plum, but it all boiled down to the votes.

Ross got an overwhelming 32 first place votes from the media and got 426 total media points while also getting the full 150 points from the league en route to a 1,038-point total, way ahead of Cabagnot's 746.

Cabagnot garnered 235 media points on 31 second place votes and 75 points from the PBA.

TNT's Jayson Castro, who barely edged Ross in the player votes, is third with 630 points, getting 162 media points on 33 third place votes and 25 points from the league.

June Mar Fajardo, who was the Best Player of the Conference in the Philippine Cup, is fourth in the BPC race for the mid-season conference with 530 points.

GlobalPort's Stanley Pringle is the only player who is not a member of a finalist team that made the shortlist, getting 415 points for fifth place.
