Former import prospect Myers part of Gilas' Jones Cup lineup

By Ivan Saldajeno

MANILA--He may have not been able to suit up in the PBA, but Mike Myers will be part of a Philippine team.

The national team, that is.

The former TNT import prospect headlines Gilas' lineup to the Jones Cup as announced by Coach Chot Reyes on Tuesday night via Twitter.

Myers flew in at the latter part of the PBA Commissioner's Cup semifinals between the KaTropa and Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, supposedly replacing Joshua Smith, who nursed a foot injury. The KaTropa decided to keep Smith the rest of the conference.

Still, the Filipino basketball fans will get to see Myers in action, this time as Gilas' foreign reinforcement for the invitational tournament in Taipei that will run from July 15-23

Meanwhile, Myers will finally get to play alongside RR Pogoy as he and the rest of the Gilas Cadets make up the locals for the Philippine side.

Star's Jio Jalalon, Rain Or Shine's Mike Tolomia, Alab's Kiefer Ravena, Phoenix's Matt Wright, Meralco's Ed Daquioag, GlobalPort's Von Pessumal, Blackwater's Mac Belo, Ginebra's Kevin Ferrer, Alaska's Carl Cruz, Kaohsiung's Toto Jose, NLEX's Fonso Gotladera, Rasta Vechta's Chris Standhardinger, free agent Almond Vosotros, and CSUN's Kobe Paras complete the Gilas lineup for the Jones Cup.
