MANILA—Defending champions San Beda shrugged off its shocking loss on its last outing, venting its frustrations over College of saint Benilde, 76-52, in the second game of Tuesday action of the NCAA Season 93 men’s basketball at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan City.
With Friday’s 91-96 setback opposite Lyceum still fresh in their memories, the Red Lions went on a tear in the second quarter with a 21-9 spurt and never looked back in the most lopsided win this season.
The 24-point margin was the largest in Season 93 after Lyceum’s 96-75 win over Jose Rizal U in the second day of the elimination round.
Javee Mocon led the boys of coach Boyet Fernandez with 12 points along with eight rebounds and five assists in 28 minutes as the Lions improved to a 2-1 win-loss slate.
Robert Bolick padded the stat sheets as he tallied nine points, 11 boards, six dimes, and two steals. AC Soberano canned three triples to also finish with nine.
Clement Leutcheu was the lone double-digit scorer for CSB, which dropped to 1-2. The Senegalese issued 10 points and five boards, while Kendrix Belgica and JJ Domingo cashed in eight apiece.
