Perpetual Help files counter protest on forfeited win vs CSB

By Ivan Saldajeno

MANILA--The "wrong jersey saga" continues.

Perpetual Help filed a protest to the NCAA seeking the upholding of its 69-65 win against CSB on Tuesday.

The said game was forfeited in favor of the Blazers as the Altas played in their maroon jerseys when they were supposed to wear white.

The counter protest stemmed from the fact that the game still pushed through after nearly an hour of delay instead of quickly giving CSB the forfeiture win.

Following the jersey blunder, CSB was awarded a technical free throw, but the match still went on, eventually leading to the Perpetual Help win.

"If you were to ask me, this game was already over before it started. It should be a forfeiture. It's under the rules," Blazers coach TY Tang aired his sentiment about the forfeited game.

The NCAA ManCom is deliberating the said matter as of posting and is expected to come up with a decision anytime soon, likely before both Perpetual Help and CSB return to action on Friday.

The Altas, who are designated to play with their maroon kits on this time, take on the JRU Heavy Bombers at 12 p.m., while the Blazers battle the EAC Generals at 2 p.m.
