ANTIPOLO—San Miguel's season sweep quest went off to a blazing start on Saturday after devouring Blackwater, 118-93, in their PBA Governors' Cup meeting at the Ynares Center.

The Beermen pummeled the Elite in the second and third quarters, outscoring them, 67-38, as new recruit Wendell McKines totally shut down Trevis Simpson in their import showdown.

McKines, who last played for Rain Or Shine, tallied 19 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, and one steal in his SMB debut.

Mike DiGregorio paced Blackwater with 18 markers, four caroms, one assist, and one steal in a game where Simpson was held scoreless in only 10 minutes of play.
