MANILA--As Ginebra coach Tim Cone reverted to his patented triangle offense system--effectively going tall ball--on Sunday night, LA Tenorio got his scoring touch back.

Tenorio dropped 29 points with five triples as the Barangay mauled the GlobalPort Batang Pier, 124-108.

"Kumpyansa ako kasi [may] apat akong [kakamping] malaki sa ilalim. malaking bagay yun. I think masyadong nakafocus sa ilalim kaya na-oopen up mga guards sa labas,” said Tenorio, who on Monday was named the Accel-PBA Press Corps Player of the Week.

Going tall indeed worked for Ginebra as import Justin Brownlee, who returned to his natural shooting guard spot, tallied 21 points, center Greg Slaughter added 19, and small forward Joe Devance contributing 14.

Slaughter, who had his best game since returning from an ACL injury, was also nominated for the said weekly citation together with NLEX's Kevin Alas, who won last week, Carlo Lastimosa, and Alex Mallari, TNT's Jayson Castro and Troy Rosario, Star's Paul Lee and Ian Sangalang, San Miguel's Junemar Fajardo and Marcio Lassiter, and Meralco's Jared Dillinger and Reynel Hugnatan.

Up next for the Barangay are the Kia Picanto on Wednesday, but while it seems like the Barangay are set for a smooth cruise on paper, Tenorio is not taking the Picanto lightly.

“It’s gonna be a big test for us also kung paano namin masu-sustain yung game," said Tenorio.
