Battle of sexes ensues in new phase of R U Tough Enough?

By Ivan Saldajeno

MAKATI--The question "Which is the stronger sex?" will finally be answered in the 2017 edition of "R U Tough Enough?"

In the third installment of the sports and fitness-based contest, five men and five women will vie for the bragging rights to be called the "Toughest Pinoy" and PHP250,000 in cash on Oct. 12 at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall in Pasay.

"We are excited to go beyond the stereotype that men are tougher than women with our very own battle of man versus woman. We're sure that this will make for an enthrallling competition," said Shirley Cheong, the executive director of marketing of Kix, the show's official broadcaster.

The third season of "R U Tough Enough" was launched on Tuesday at the Buffalo Wild Wings Restaurant in Glorietta 2, and along with it was the introduction of the show's new ambassadors, Philippine Volcanoes member Arnold Aninion and actress Aubrey Miles.

Aninion and Miles will also serve as mentors for the male and female quintets, respectively.

According to Cheong, the five male and five female competitors will first collide in an intra-gender clash with the lone male and lone female survivor battling in one final showdown for all the marbles.

Application is now underway for Filipinos 18 years old and above at kix-tv.com/tough.
