MANILA--When some sportswriters asked Junemar Fajardo on why he was walking gingerly on his way out of the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on Wednesday night, the soft-spoken slotman replied, "Hindi ko alam eh. Parang cramps eh."
As it turned out, however, it was not just cramps.
Fajardo was revealed to have suffered a strained calf in the Beermen's game against the TNT KaTropa.
According to SMB governor Robert Non, the doctor advised the 6-foot-10 giant to take a rest, which could mean he will miss Gilas' campaign in the FIBA Asia Cup in Beirut next week.
Non, however, clarified that Fajardo will still join the national team to Lebanon.
Fajardo did not suit up for the Beermen in their Friday night clash against sister squad Star Hotshots also at "The Big Dome", which is ongoing as of posting.
