Ginebra still red-hot, sends Phoenix to seventh straight loss

MANILA--Ginebra cruised to its fifth straight win in the PBA Governors' Cup with a 105-92 win over Phoenix at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay on Wednesday night.

The Barangay took over in the third quarter, outscoring the Fuel Masters, 32-18, to pull away for good.

Justin Brownlee led Ginebra, which now ties Meralco at the top of the standings at 5-1, with 24 points, 17 rebounds, five assists, four steals, and two blocks.

Japeth Aguilar added 19 points, 13 boards, and four blocks, while Greg Slaughter chipped in 14 markers, 11 caroms, and one assist off the bench.

Brandon Brown tallied 26 points, 18 rebounds, two assists, four blocks, and four steals for Phoenix, which fell to its seventh straight loss and has now found itself on the verge on missing the quarterfinals.

Matt Wright added 21 points, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
