LFY sends TNC to TI7 lower bracket

By Ivan Saldajeno

MANILA--LGD-Forever Young showed why it is the overall top-seeded team in the TI7 playoffs, sending TNC to the lower bracket with a 2-0 win at the Key Arena in Seattle on Wednesday (Philippine Time).

LFY never wavered despite Carlo Palad showing his way with Alchemist in Game 1 and went on an all-out push at the middle lane to force TNC to call GG after a marathon match that lasted for 66 minutes.

Su Peng then led the way for LFY in Game 2 as his Bristleback proved to be the thorn for TNC to force the sudden death, and the game ended after only 34 minutes.

Virtus Pro, however, spoiled what would have been a "Team A vs. Team B" battle in the upper bracket semis as the club swept LGD, 2-0, in the other upper bracket quarterfinal scheduled for Wednesday.

Both clubs are now assured of at least a Top 8 finish and US$601,311 (about PHP30.47 million) in cash.

LGD and TNC, on the other hand, now need to beat Digital Chaos, featuring Filipino import Abed Yusop, and OG respectively to stay alive in the race for US$10.6 million (PHP536.5 million).
