SMB repeats mastery over TNT in Comm Cup Finals rematch

QUEZON CITY—Even without Charles Rhodes, the San Miguel Beermen showed the TNT KaTropa why they are the PBA Commissioner's Cup champions.

SMB repeated its mastery over TNT, 97-91, in the rematch of the finals of the previous conference in the Governors' Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday night.

The Beermen pulled away in the fourth quarter and repulsed a gallant stand from the KaTropa late in the game to go 2-0 in the season-ending tournament.

June Mar Fajardo tallied 27 points, six rebounds, five blocks, and one steal, while Wendell McKines chipped in 22 points, nine rebounds, and two blocks for SMB.

Michael Craig has a quiet 16 markers with 18 rebounds, four assists, and three steals for TNT.
