MANILA--With two key players out due to Gilas' FIBA Asia Cup campaign and its roster somehow shaken up by player movements, Rain Or Shine needed some unsung heroes to build a winning run in the PBA Governors' Cup.

Chris Tiu answered the call.

The former Gilas guard provided the needed court generalship for the Elasto Painters in their last two games.

The 5-foot-11 former Ateneo quarterback dished out eight assists alongside 13 points and five rebounds as ROS made quick work of Kia.

A week later, Tiu once again made a vital role for the E-Painters, helping them weather a TNT KaTropa run and even further pushing them down the drain for a blowout win.

Tiu would finish with six points, five rebounds, and six assists in the said rout.

Tiu's point guard prowess netted him the Accel-PBA Press Corps Player of the Week award.

Tiu got the nod over ROS teammates Jericho Cruz and Beau Belga, Meralco's Garvo Lanete, Blackwater's Roi Sumang, GlobalPort's Stanley Pringle, and NLEX's Kevin Alas.
