MANILA--The year might not be done, but the coaching staff of the Association of Boxing Alliances in the Philippines will kick off its quest to the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia before the year comes to a close.
Head coach Nolito Velasco said that members of Team A and Team B will converge to put their quest in motion.
"Ang gusto ko mangyari ay mag-form ng dalawang team na sasabak sa training abroad at [locally]. [From this pool] manggagaling kung sino papadala natin sa Asian Games," said Velasco.
He insists that members of the elite team have to prove in the coming months if they are deserving of spots bound for Indonesia.
Last time in Incheon, Charly Suarez settled for the lightweight silver, while three others bagged bronze medals.
