PASAY -- Three-time defending champs NU pulled away in the second half to record their 51st straight win in UAAP Women's Basketball tournament today at MOA Arena, manhandling UST, 95-65.

Trixie Antiquiera caught fire in the second quarter for NU mentor Patrick Aquino, firing in 18 of her game high 27 markers as Jack Animam and Ria Nabalan backstopped their starting shooting guard to score 23 and 17 respectively.

Nabalan came an assist short of a triple-double as Animam is just 2 boards shy of a 20-20 game in an all around domination by the Lady Bulldogs.

Anjel Anies fired 18 points off the bench but the Tigresses of Haydee Ong lost steam in the second half after pulling within as low as three at the half.

UST kept in step in the first half, leading by four points earlier on before NU launched a 9-0 run to take the quarter, 17-15.

Then Antiquiera launched a second quarter takeover, as NU led by as much as twelve before Jem Angeles ended the first half with a buzzer-beating triple to pull within three.

But that was all UST can muster as NU controlled the second half by limiting the Tigresses to 27 second half points, with Animam taking over the fourth with 11 points in the final frame.
