QUEZON CITY -- Defending UAAP champions La Salle sent the UST Growling Tigers further down the cellar with a wire-to-wire 115-86 beating to open Saturday's men's basketball doubleheader at the Big Dome.

Reigning UAAP MVP Ben Mbala now have a solid back up to his 29 points, with Andrei Caracut and Leonard Santillan pitched in 14 and 13 respectively.

Wendell De Guzman's 18 points are all in vain once again to UST, as they slumped to their worst start to the season in the Final Four era with their sixth straight loss.
