UE survives late FEU scare to get first win

Despite losing Eunice Chan to fouls, UE kept their endgame poise to survive a FEU onslaught.

QUEZON CITY -- After nearly pushing NU to the limit last week, UE finally got their first win of the Women's basketball season season hosts FEU their victims in a 59-56 nail-biter at the big dome.

Despite losing Eunique Chan and Love Sto Domingo to fouls late in the final quarter, Aileen Libornio's Lady Warriors get their endgame composure in time to stun thr Lady Tamaraws i a see-saw affair.

Chan and Sto. Domingo scored 19 and 12 respectively before hitting the bench after commiting their fifth and final foul, with the former fouling out with 2:04 left.

Ruthlaine Tacula saw her productio drastically dropped to 8 markers, but she made the final count with a field goal in the final minute to move up to 1-1.

Precious Arellado's 29 markers went down the drain for FEU, who blew an early 10-point lead early in the first period before putting a late fightback that ended short to go down to 1-1.

"Siyempre masaya kami na nanalo kami pero ang panget ng pinakita namin ngayon," Libornio said after the game in which they committed 38 turnovers and nearly blowing a 9-point lead after three .

She added that they need to practice their poise at the final minutes, especially giving NU the biggest game to open their season.
