PASAY CITY -- Adamson were made to work in the entire 40 minutes before brushing aside a game UE, 66-57 in the second round of the UAAP Men's Basketball tournament Wednesday afternoon at the MOA Arena.

It was a tight battle in the first 35 minutes before Franz's Soaring Falcons pulled away over Manong Derrick's Red Warriors to sweep this season's Pumaren Derby, in which the former limited the latter to just nine fourth-quarter points.

Aside from solidifying their third spot by improving to 6-3, Adamson ended UE's two-game winning streak in the process.

Jerick Ahanmisi lead the way with 14 points, with a  4/6 clip from inside the arc.

Backstopping the sophomore guard was Papi Sarr who had a double-double of 12 points and 15 rebounds.

Alvin Pasaol and Mark Olayon combined for 38 points but their supporting cast deserted them, with no other Red Warrior scored more than four markers as they fell to 2-7.

It was a see-saw affair after the opening tiff, as both teams trade leads and baskets until Adamson came on top by 3 at the end of the first.

UE came up with a revolt on its own, as they pulled to within two but a three-pointer by Jerie Pingoy put the Falcons up by five at the break.

The lead was extended to seven at the end of the third, and to nine with seven minutes left, but buckets by Nick Abanto and JC Cullar pulled the Red Warriors closer to within five, 59-54.

But Adamson hold firm in the end, with their stifling defense limited UE to their final three pointers as they fired clutch baskets, thanks to Sean Manganti and Ahanmisi to shut down any hope of a comeback for the Red Warriors.
