QUEZON CITY -- Adamson nearly blew a seven point lead in the final frame but their defense saved the day for them, repulsing FEU, 55-54 in the UAAP Women's Basketball tournament Wednesday morning inside Ateneo's Blue Eagle Gym.

A shot-clock violation and two held balls in the final twelve second set the stage for a wild finale but the Lady Falcons foil the last possession of the Lady Tams to register just their second win of the season.

Nathalia Prado had a double-double of 18 points and 11 boards to lead Adamson, who ended the first round back on a winning note at 2-5.

"Bago pa lang kami magkakasama sa team, pero I know na di sila bibigay at the last second," Adamson mentor John Kallos said after the match after their defense won it for them to boost their postseason hopes heading into the second round.

Angel Arellado had 14 for FEU but fouled out with 1:42 left in the game for FEU who fell down to a game below .500 for the season hosts at 3-4.
