QUEZON CITY--Glen Rice Jr. and Kevin Ferrer were already sizing each other during Game 3 of the PBA Governors' Cup semifinals.
But in Game 4, the heated match-up between the two reached boiling point, and it led to the TNT's import's ejection.
Rice was sent off early into the KaTropa's do-or-die battle with the Barangay at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday night.
With TNT up, 35-23, Rice shoved Kevin Ferrer while the latter guarded the former with 1:41 left in the period, which was merited for a flagrant foul penalty one.
Rice then threw the ball near Ferrer's head out of frustration, and the officials slapped him with a technical foul that led to his ejection.
The said disqualification proved to be a bit crucial as Ginebra cut the lead to nine, 41-32, at the end of the first quarter.
