QUEZON CITY -- It took a last second shot by Ana Castillo for La Salle to win over archrivals Ateneo in a 49-46 nailbiter in the UAAP Women's Basketball tournament Wednesday morning in the latter's home floor at the Blue Eagle Gym.
Castillo completed the late comeback by the Lady Archers, as they overcame a 10-point hole early in the fourth to snatch the win at the death.
The graduating guard scored a team high of 15 points, including 9 in final frame, scoring the last seven for Pocholo Villanueva's ladies to move to 2-4.
Tina Deacon's game high of 17 points went down the drain for the Lady Eagles who dropped their fifth straight game to end the first round, with missed free throws and turnovers doomed them in the endgame.
