PBA

BIÑAN--Star was just 3:45 away from drawing first blood in the PBA Governors' Cup semifinals against Meralco.

Tension even rose at the Bolts's bench because of frustration.

But Meralco never wavered, ending the game on a 15-0 run to steal the Game 1 win at the Alonte Sports Arena on Sunday night.

Star's skipper Marc Pingris expressed his disappointment afterward.

"Nag-give up pa kami, fourth quarter pa," Pingris rued.

The six-foot-six power forward now hopes his team will take to heart what Coach Chito Victolero advised them after the game.

"Sabi ni Coach kailangan may matutunan kami sa larong ito," Pingris bared.

However, the Hotshots will need to apply the lesson quickly as Game 2 will happen on Tuesday night at the Sta. Rosa Multi-Purpose Sports Complex in the adjacent city of Sta. Rosa.
