MANILA--Glen Rice Jr. had to sit out the entire third quarter due to foul trouble.
It turned out to be what he needed to gear up for a fourth quarter barrage.
Rice blasted off in the payoff period as TNT turned back Ginebra, 103-96, in Game 2 of the PBA Governors' Cup semifinals at the Batangas City Coliseum in Batangas City on Wednesday night.
The son of NBA legend Glen Sr. dropped 12 of his 21 points in the final frame as the KaTropa pulled away from the Barangay for good in the said period to tie the best-of-five series at one win each.
Rice went 6-of-10 from the field while also getting three rebounds, four assists, and one steal in only 23 minutes of play.
Jayson Castro added 20 markers and 10 dimes for a double-double with four boards and one steal, while Troy Rosario (16 points and eight rebounds) and Kelly Williams (11 rebounds and seven points) flirted with their own double-doubles.
Justin Brownlee led Ginebra with 25 points, 10 rebounds, two blocks, and one steal, but in a rare sight, he had more turnovers (four) than assists (three).
