BIÑAN--University of the East survive a late revolt by La Salle by the slimmest of margins, 69-68 to end the first round of thr UAAP Women's basketball tournament on a winning note Saturday afternoon at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.
The Lady Warriors survive another late scare by the Lady Archers to end the opening round at 5-2, solidifying their hold at third in the standings.
Lovejoy Sto. Domingo collected a monster double-double of 15 points and 17 rebounds in the win.
Sto. Domingo sank pressure packed freebies in the last 13.2 ticks to clinch it.
After defeating Ateneo on their own floor last Wednesday, Anna Castillo lead La Salle to a game high 23 points in the loss.
