BACOLOD City—Foton notched its third straight win as it
upended Genrika-Ayala, 25-22, 25-22, 25-16, in the first game of Saturday
action of the 2017 Chooks-to-Go Philippine Superliga Grand Prix at the
University of St. La Salle gym.
Serbian import Sara Klisura once again carried the scoring
chores, firing a game-high 18 points spiked by 15 kills and three service aces as
the defending two-time champs joined Petron atop the team standings with a
perfect 3-0 record.
Jaja Santiago, Montenegrin Dragana Perunicic, and Maika
Ortiz all chipped in eight markers for the Tornados, which held a 36-32 edge in
attacks while taking advantage of 24 Generika miscues for the straight-set win.
They also had nine service aces as compared to the
Lifesavers’ two.
With the loss, Generika-Ayala dropped its second successive game
and fell to a 1-3 win-loss card. Katerina Filipic topscored with 17 markers on
15 attacks, while fellow import Darlene Ramdin had five.
