PUERTO PRINCESA--Just two weeks after a sensational win in Pasay, Gina Iniong will quickly return to the One Championship cage in Singapore against a familiar foe.

The promotion officially announced on Tuesday that Iniong will take on Japanese fighter Mei Yamaguchi in a colossal rematch at One: Immortal Pursuit at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore on Nov. 24.

Yamaguchi was set for a rematch with Angela Lee in what could have been the main event of the said card for the One women's atomweight title, but with Lee still recuperating from her injuries following a road accident mishap, Lee was instead replaced by Iniong.

"I commend Gina Iniong for taking this match on a short notice," said Yamaguchi.

Iniong and Yamaguchi last locked horns at PXC 43 at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig on March 29, 2014, where Iniong defeated Yamaguchi via split decision.

"Facing Mei Yamaguchi three years ago was like going through the eye of a needle. That bout opened doors of great opportunity for me in this sport," Iniong commented about their first meeting. "I am expecting a tough duel with her again on Nov. 24 in Singapore."

Iniong would lose her next assignment to Courtney Casey, but she has since racked up three straight wins, including two at One with the most recent being a second round stoppage of Prescilla Lumbangaol at One: Legends of the World at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay on Friday.

Although aware that Iniong will just be two weeks off her last fight come their rematch, Yamaguchi remains wary of her foe's stamina.

"I have faced her before, and she is always in good condition," said Yamaguchi.

In a related development, the One welterweight title bout between Ben Askren and Shinya Aoki was elevated to main event status, while a showdown between Amir Khan and Adrian Pang will be the co-main event.
