QUEZON CITY -- Nathalia Prado drained two clutch free throws to win it for Adamson in a 47-46 nail-biter over Ateneo in the UAAP Women's basketball tournament Saturday afternoon at the Blue Eagle Gym.
The forward nailed the pair in the final 12.7 seconds to keep the flickering postseason hopes of the Lady Falcons alive as they move to 5-6 after nailing a revenge win over their victims, having lost their first round encounter in a close fashion as well.
Prado ended up with 15 points, with guard Jamie Alcoy backing her up with 14 as Adamson nearly blew a 14 point lead before escaping with the W in a fourth quarter shootout.
Center Tina Deacon fired 8 of her team-high 14 in the final period but the comeback bid of the Lady Eagles agonizingly ended up short, as their elimination from the postseason race was confirmed at the last second when Jonette Uy De Ong clanked her desparation three at the buzzer.
The scores:
Adamson 47 -- Prado 15, Alcoy 14, Lacson 9, Rosario 7, Villanueva 2, Araja 0, Cacho 0, Cabug 0, Razalo 0, Camacho 0.

Quarter scores: 13-7, 27-24, 35-31, 47-46.
