Singapore lords over Alab in Laguna anew

STA. ROSA, Laguna—Xavier Alexander put up a brilliant performance on the road, while AJ Mandani sizzled in his Philippine homecoming as Singapore blasted Alab, 97-83, in their ABL midweek clash at the Sta. Rosa Multi-Purpose Sports Complex on Wednesday night.

The Slingers whipped Alab in the fourth period as they scored their second straight win in the ongoing season.

Singapore actually was poised to pull a blowout in the second quarter after opening the period on an 11-4 run to lead by 15, 34-19. The visiting side kept the double-digit spread for the remainder of the second and most of the third.

Alab, however, threatened to take the lead after going on a 16-4 run of its own to draw to within one, 71-72.

The Slingers started the fourth on a 12-0 to finally break away for good.

Xavier Alexander led Singapore with a triple-double of 27 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 assists with four steals, while Mandani added 17 markers, one board, four dimes, and three steals.

Ryan Wright imposed his will inside and finished with 24 points, 18 rebounds, and a block, while Ng Han Bin collected 18 points on four triples.

Reggie Okosa tallied 24 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and two steals for Alab.
