MANILA--Honorio Banario's resurgence at One Championship continued with a scintillating knockout of Jaroslav Jartin at One: Kings of Destiny last April.
And that knockout should not be overlooked.
The MMA promotion ranked Banario's stoppage of Jartim as the second best knockout of 2017.
Banario connected on a left hook that knocked Jartim out cold at the 1:31 mark of Round 2 for his first knockout win since 2012.
Only Martin Nguyen's shocking knockout over Eduard Folayang to capture the One lightweight title last November was ranked higher than Banario's, easily making Nguyen's historic stoppage the Knockout of the Year.
Also in the Top 5 is Boracay-based Swedish fighter Zebaztian Kadestam's stunner over former world title contender Luis Santos, ending up in third place.
