PASAY--Blackwater came close to completing a comeback from 19 points down to steal the win from Meralco.

A former Elite, however, spoiled everything.

KG Canaleta drilled the eventual dagger triple with time winding down to help the Bolts escape with 103-98 win on Friday night at the Cuneta Astrodome.

The three-point bomb was the last of his 25 points in the game, his most impressive scoring performance in recent memory.

Coach Norman Black, during the post-game press conference, was all praises for the veteran dunker turned gunner.

"I'd like to give a special mention to KG, who I think was exceptional tonight, scoring and rebounding the basketball," Black said.

Canaleta shot 9-of-14 from the field with eight rebounds, two assists, and two blocks.

"He's going to be a very good addition to the team," Black said of Canaleta, who signed with Meralco after Blackwater opted not to sign him to a contract extension during the offseason.
