Football superstars visit PHL for clinics

He is coming. Brazilian legend Zico will be in town for a two-day clinic.

MANILA--Former English Premier League goalkeeper Andy Petterson will be on hand on Saturday at the BGC Turf in Taguig for a coaching session.

Meanwhile, Brazilian football legend Zico would be in the country in the last weekend of this month for a brief training clinic on Jan. 28 at the McKinley Hill Stadium in Taguig.

Petterson was a well-traveled keeper, having played with a number of professional clubs from 1988-2010.

His career highlight include being named Charlton Athletic FC player of the year in 1997.

The clinic starts at 4 p.m. and includes other activities.

Meanwhile, Zico was a prominent player in the 1970's and 1980's, having scored 48 goals in 71 appearances for the Brazilian men's senior national team.

As a player, he suited up for Brazilian side Flamengo, Italian club Udinese, and Japanese squad Kashima Antlers.

After hanging his boots in 1994, he went on having a successful managerial career, winning the 2004 AFC Asian Cup tournament as coach of the Japanese team.

The event organized by Seven Seas Properties commences at 1 p.m. Admission is free.
