Guiao denies Ross's n-word claim but explains dirty finger flashing

PASAY—Coach Yeng Guiao was quick to deny Chris Ross's claim that he gave a racial remark to him.

"Hindi ko sinabi yung n-word," Guiao said when he walked out of NLEX's dugout after a lengthy post-game talk with his coaching staff on Friday night following the loss to San Miguel in an ill-tempered showdown at the Cuneta Astrodome.

He did admit, however, that he flashed the dirty finger at Ross when cooler heads prevailed.

"Kasama na rin yun, pero it's part of the psychological warfare," Guiao explained.

He, however, insisted that Ross was the first to throw bars at the Road Warriors bench likely in reaction to his altercations with Alex Mallari and Mike Miranda earlier in the quarter.

"Andoon siya sa tapat namin. Daldal siya nang daldal. Eh ako lang ang nakatayo doon. Di ko alam kung sa akin or doon sa bench namin," Guiao continued his side of the story. "I just felt that I didn't understand what he was saying and talking about. Nakipag-trash talking din ako sa kanya, pero wala naman yun."

For him, Ross should have kept his cool.

"Sa akin naman, pag nagkaganoon, siguro respeto na lang. Lumayo ka na lang. Tutal, mananalo naman kayo," Guiao further quipped.
