MANILA--The Philippine polo team's Cinderella run in the All Asia Cup ended up short of a "happily-ever-after" finish after Thailand showed its championship pedigree in the final at the VR Sports Club in Bangkok on Saturday night.

Behind Top and Tal Srivadhanprabha, the Thais overpowered the Filipinos, 8.5-6, to take home the title.

Despite the Philippine team bowing in its first championship game appearance in the said tourney, Mikee Romero will still go home with a silverware in his hands as he took home the MVP honors.

The Philippine polo team dedicates its runner-up finish to Romero's son Migs, also a member of the said squad but passed away recently at a young age of 22.
