Ravena flirts with triple-double as Ateneo tramples NCF

PASIG--Ateneo De Manila, despite playing undermanned, showed its experience down the stretch to upend Naga College Foundation, 84-69, in the main game of the opening day triple-header of the PCCL Elite 8 round at the Ynares Sports Arena on Thursday night.

The Blue Eagles romped the Tigers in the second half, limiting them to only 28 points in the final 20 minutes--12 in the final quarter--as Thirdy Ravena made an impressive all-around performance to lead the way for them.

Ravena finished with 15 points and 14 rebounds for a double-double while coming close to a triple-double with nine assists alongside one block for Ateneo, which deployed only nine players for Thursday night with the rest of its PCCL roster having classes according to Coach Tab Baldwin.

Matt Nieto led the team with 16 points, six rebounds, and two assists.

Emman Ojoula put up 34 points on 15-of-18 shooting with 14 boards, one dime, and one block for NCF, the Luzon regional champion.
