ANTIPOLO--Even on his special day, Calvin Abueva had some work to do, and it turned out to be a tough one.

Alaska engaged in a wild encounter with GlobalPort at the Ynares Center on Sunday night.

The Aces, however, found a way to break away from the Batang Pier in overtime and score their sixth straight win.

And just like any other celebrant having a game right at his birthday, it was something Abueva wanted.

"Yun din naman yung [wini-wish] ko, di ba?" he said after the game, adding that it was a gift from God.

As he turns 30, he hopes for three things.

Firstly, that Alaska's resurgence will continue and that its performance in the past six games will be emulated.

"Binigay na namin [ang] lahat dito sa game na ito. Sana mag-tuluy-tuloy pa," quipped Abueva, who had decent stats of 12 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and one steal.

Secondly, that he can show everyone what he is now.

"Ang birthday wish ko ay maging buo akong tao na mapakita ko na nakatayo ako sa sarili kong paa na walang hinahagip," Abueva said in particular.

And finally, to have more time with his children.

"Ang importante, makasama ko [ang] mga anak ko na kahit dito man lang sa birthday ko," Abueva further said while baring that he may get some time together with them next week.
