PASAY--He may have missed out on an advanced birthday gift in Game 3, but Coach Leo Austria will still get a win as a birthday gift, albeit a day belated already.

"Magandang regalo sa aking birthday ito," Austria said after a 102-81 Game 4 win by San Miguel over Ginebra on Thursday night in the PBA Philippine Cup semifinals at the Mall of Asia Arena. "Sabi nila, 'Kapag may birthday, nasa'yo ang swerte.'"

According to him, he felt something from the Beermen that impressed him a lot.

"Energy ang big factor," Austria bared. "We're able to negate whatever they want because of the energy."

SMB shot 42-of-81 from the field for 51 percent, assisting on 29 of the made baskets.

Arguably, the best example of the team's energy in the game is that of Chris Ross.

Ross, despite playing through a right thigh strain in Game 3, made 11 points off the bench on a perfect 4-for-4 field goals and 3-of-3 triples.
